Position

Summary

Join our team as a Waterfront Engineer and play a pivotal role in providing technical expertise and analytical support. This dynamic position involves resolving Condition Reports (CRs) that stem from modifications to the Statement of Work (SOW), Technical Work Documents (TWD), or as-found conditions. You'll prepare detailed technical reports, resolve conflicts, determine testing requirements, and deliver timely responses to CRs. Additionally, you'll create sketches or drawings to support CR resolutions when necessary and assist with additional documentation such as LARs and DFSs.

This role supports Oceaneering's Marine Services Division (MSD) located in Chesapeake, VA, but is based in Bremerton, WA. Successful candidates must be willing to travel up to 30%.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Provides entry level technical expertise and analytical support in the resolution to CRs that are generated as a result of modifications to the SOW, TWDs, or as found conditions in the performance of work.
  • Prepares technical reports/instructions to support contracts; resolves conflicts and/or determine testing requirements for certification of production work performed for contracts.
  • Provides accurate, timely response to CRs submitted by various activities.
  • Provides resolution for technical issues concerning maintenance, assists in preparation of any additional documentation required, i.e., LARs, DFSs, etc.
  • Prepares sketches and/or drawings to support resolutions of CRs when required or by a contract.
  • Performs basic engineering tasks and conventional design that may be varied in nature.
  • Supports CR/TGI process under supervision of WFEM or Project Engineer.
  • Provide recommended resolution to conditions reported on Condition Reports. Resolution will include all associated research, identified discrepancies, corrective course of action and applicable Technical Authority concurrence when required.
Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Ocean, or Nuclear Engineering, Naval Architecture, or related field from an accredited college or university; or eight (8) years in military, government, or defense industry or private industry in complex scientific, technical, analytical, or related experience with ship repair/submarine systems in lieu of…
