Leadership and Business Management (LBM) Adjunct Faculty – Puget Sound Naval Shipyard (PSNS)
Salary: $1,000 per credit. Classification:
Adjunct Faculty.
Reports to:
Dean of Business & Technology. This teaching position is located at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and is an in-person, daily schedule during a designated timeframe.
Olympic College is recruiting adjunct faculty to teach Leadership and Business Management (LBM) itions are part-time, open continuously, and reviewed quarterly. Applicants in the pool are active for 12 months from the application date and may be contacted when vacancies occur. Applying does not guarantee a position.
Essential Functions- Teach daily in person, during a designated timeframe, college-level courses in accordance with the college catalog, schedule of classes, course outlines, syllabi, and departmental guidelines.
- Provide quality teaching including related preparation and grading.
- Provide class syllabi to students and to the division office as requested.
- Maintain accurate records of students and complete required forms.
- May include evening instruction.
- Maintain punctual communication with students, faculty, and staff.
- Perform other related duties as assigned and/or required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in organizational leadership and management, or related field.
- Three (3) years of successful leadership experience in a medium or large-sized organization.
Desired Qualifications
- Teaching experience at the college level or experience teaching adults in other capacities.
- Effectively teach and convey enthusiasm for the courses.
- Demonstrate a commitment to teaching students with varied backgrounds and levels of experience.
- Use a variety of instructional methods to support student success.
- Contribute to the college’s diversity and work as a team player.
- Communicate effectively in writing and speech with students and professionals.
- Incorporate computer information technology in service delivery where appropriate.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Uphold Olympic College values and ethics to maintain a positive climate.
Terms of Employment
We are unable to sponsor visas. Only candidates authorized to work in the United States will be considered. Faculty must submit official transcripts to Human Resources within 30 days of employment. Final salary will be determined based on education and credits. This is an adjunct, quarterly-contract position. Salary is per quarter and commensurate with qualifications and experience. AHE collective bargaining agreement applies.
Flexibility is required for department needs, including evening/weekend classes, instruction at satellite campuses, and off-campus travel to clinical sites. Adjunct positions are open continuously and reviewed quarterly. Applicants remain active for 12 months from the application date and may be contacted when vacancies occur. Adjuncts are not eligible for benefits upon initial hire; eligibility requires 50% of a full-time load for two consecutive quarters.
Other SBCTC colleges’ hours may count toward this requirement. Benefits may include: deferred compensation (DRS), TIAA retirement, sick leave, Aflac, tuition waivers, EAP, fitness center, and on-site childcare on a space-available basis. For more information, visit the college website.
Conditions of Employment
Prior to hire, a background check will be conducted. Information from the check will be considered in determining suitability for the position. Candidates may be required to complete a Sexual Misconduct Disclosure form as required by WB HB 2327. The employee must reside in Washington State and within a reasonable distance of the campus to respond to workplace reporting requirements. Frequent travel to Olympic College campuses or other sites may occur.
