The base salary for Nursing Faculty will include an additional nurse educator salary enhancement to meet industry standards according to the current Association of Higher Education Collective Bargaining Agreement and Memorandums of Understanding.
Olympic College is continuously seeking qualified part‑time nursing faculty to begin teaching each quarter. The Nursing Faculty at Olympic College is a motivated, caring, enthusiastic, and unique team of individuals who continually strive for personal and professional excellence. EssentialFunctions
- Prepare and teach courses in the nursing program.
- Provide class syllabi to students enrolled in classes and to the division office as requested.
- Maintain accurate records of students and complete forms as required.
- Prepare and teach theoretical and clinical content across the span of nursing reflective of the philosophy and conceptual framework of the nursing program.
- Determine appropriate clinical assignments for Nursing Students.
- Provide clinical supervision and evaluation.
- Document each student's progress; determine, in collaboration with the student, a plan for achieving success.
- Attend clinical orientation and faculty meetings.
- Participate in theory and clinical course evaluation identifying both strengths and areas for development.
- Collaborate in a timely manner with the Associate Dean of Nursing regarding student and/or course issues.
- Keep abreast of program policy and procedure changes.
- Participate in nursing program academic assessment processes.
- Facilitate scholarly activities.
- Establish and maintain relations with internal and external constituencies.
- Participate in the maintenance of accreditation standards for National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) and Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
- Collaborate with peers and the Associate Dean of Nursing.
- Participate in integration of simulation into theory and clinical courses.
- Perform other related duties as assigned and/or required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Nursing or related field from an accredited College or University.
- Three (3) years of Clinical Nursing experience.
- Current unencumbered RN license in WA State or ability to obtain WA RN licensure Prior to employment.
- Basic level computer competency, including Microsoft Office applications.
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing program with 3 years or more clinical experience within a specialty area may be considered in lieu of a Master's Degree. Specialty areas in high demand include Obstetrics, Pediatrics, and Mental Health.
- Doctorate in Nursing or Education from an accredited college or university.
- Previous teaching experience in a Nursing program.
- Demonstrate strong organizational leadership, interpersonal, and collaborative skills.
- Exhibit active involvement in nursing and related organizations.
- Utilize teaching strategies for individual learning styles and unique learning needs of adult, multicultural, educationally disadvantaged, and at-risk learners.
- Prepare all classroom materials based on the approved course outlines and syllabi.
- Model the legal and ethical standard of practice for learners as described by the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics.
- Involvement in nursing-related organizations, engagement in lifelong learning activities, and dissemination of information through publications, presentations, and advocacy is strongly encouraged;
Foster a climate of respectful, open, and honest discourse. - Model the use of Nursing Informatics and Information Literacy.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate and build rapport with colleagues, staff, and students as part of an educational team.
- Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Possess excellent customer service skills; including building and maintaining internal/external customer satisfaction.
- Demonstrate an appreciation of diversity and the benefits of a commitment to cultural awareness and sensitivity in the workplace.
- Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to the Olympic College mission, vision, and values.

Faculty members must submit official, unopened transcripts to the Human Resources department within 30 days of their employment.
Final salary contract will be determined based on educational qualifications and applicable credits.
