Overview
Olympic College is recruiting adjunct faculty in Philosophy. Positions are reviewed quarterly and candidates will remain in the applicant pool for 12 months after application.
Essential Functions- Teach courses according to the college catalog, course outlines, and syllabi.
- Prepare and grade assignments, maintain accurate records, and file required forms.
- Provide class syllabi to students and the Division Office as requested.
- Teach evening classes if required and perform related duties as assigned.
- Master's degree in Philosophy or a closely related field.
- Qualified to teach Introduction to Philosophy, Introduction to Western Religions, Introduction to Eastern Religions, or Introduction to Logic.
- College teaching experience preferred.
- Effectively teach and inspire enthusiasm in a diverse student body.
- Use a variety of instructional methods to ensure student success.
- Demonstrate commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Be a team player and foster multicultural understanding.
- Communicate orally and in writing, and incorporate technology in teaching.
- Understand and support Olympic College’s mission and learning‑centered climate.
Visa sponsorship is not available; applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. Official, unopened transcripts must be submitted within 30 days of employment. Salary will be determined based on educational qualifications and applicable credits. Adjuncts are contract‑based on a quarterly basis and can work at satellite campuses or off‑campus sites. Benefits are available after 50% of a full‑time load is completed over two consecutive quarters and may include the Deferred Retirement Savings Program, TIAA supplemental plan, sick leave, and other space‑available benefits.

Background checks and a Sexual Misconduct Disclosure Form will be required. The employee must reside in Washington State and be able to travel as needed.
