Job Title: Parent Child Educator
Department: Early Learning and Family Services
Hourly Wage: $21.03- $23.37 (Depends on qualifications)
Position Type: Full Time, Non-Exempt
Direct Supervisor: Home Base Supervisor
Work Environment: Works in office, client homes, and classroom environment
The Parent‑Child Educator role supports parents of toddlers in both classroom and home settings by facilitating parent‑child classes once a week and conducting weekly home visits. Services promote routines, social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth of young children using a developmentally appropriate curriculum approved by the Early Head Start program. This role is also a key partner with Hollyridge Center ensuring an inclusive environment for both programs.

Qualifications:
- Required
Education:
Associates Degree in Early Childhood - Preferred Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood - Bi‑lingual Spanish or Mam a plus
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Must have training and/or experience focused on infant/toddler development
- Must have concern for and understanding of low‑income people
- Must be aware and sensitive to Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) related to free appropriate education to all children with disabilities identified as needing special education and related services
- Must believe that such children can benefit from inclusion in a regular classroom setting
- Ability to pass State & Federal Background Checks (prior to hire date)
License(s) and/or
Certifications:
- Valid Washington Stat Driver’s License
- Current auto insurance and reliable transportation
- Family Advocate Certification (within 18 months of employment)
- First Aide/CPR certification (within 90 days of employment)
- Food Worker Permit (within 90 days of employment)
- Initial physical exam (within 90 days of employment)
- Tuberculosis (TB) Testing (upon employment and before contact with children, testing done before hire will not be recognized)
- Current Immunizations per Washington Administrative Code (can be obtained upon hire)
