Safety Supervisor; Construction Projects

Job Description
As a Safety Supervisor you will oversee construction safety during major projects. This role involves ensuring safe work practices are followed, coordinating safety activities on-site, and collaborating closely with project teams to prevent incidents and promote a strong safety environment. You will report to the EHS Director.

• Supervise and coordinate safety-related activities across large construction sites
• Review and approve work permits to ensure all safety measures are met
• Conduct regular safety inspections and site walkthroughs to identify hazards
• Address unsafe conditions and behaviors by implementing corrective actions
• Evaluate project EHS plans for compliance, completeness, and effectiveness
• Work closely with project managers, contractors, and site leadership to embed safety into daily operations
• Support risk assessments, safety analysis, and safe work method statements
• Intervene and stop work when unsafe conditions or practices are observed
• Promote a safety-first mindset among all workers and contractors
• Report safety performance, incidents, and findings to project and EHS leadership

• Relevant safety certification or education (e.g., MVK)
• Proven experience supervising safety on medium to large construction projects
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations and industry standards
• Excellent observational, communication, and teamwork skills
• Ability to work independently and confidently in a dynamic field environment
• Focused on risk prevention and safety compliance
• Must be proficient in Dutch (written and spoken)
