Overview

The Town of Breckenridge Recreation Department is seeking a dedicated and customer service-oriented individual for the position of Events Lead - Summer Seasonal
. This position is responsible for the design and oversight of recreation programs and special events. This involves maintaining knowledge of specific methodologies or practices for appropriate participant/employee education and utilizing appropriate techniques and progressions to ensure a quality product. The Special Events Lead – Summer Seasonal will have a combination of knowledge, skills, experience, training, education, certification, or licensure and provide an appropriate level of leadership.

Individuals in this position are responsible for design, instruction, and oversight of programs and services within the Special Events area of the Programs Division. The incumbent is primarily responsible for the development and support of special events, and various other sports & special event related duties. The individual will be responsible for assisting the Sports & Special Events Coordinator with scheduling and coordinating staff and volunteers, which may include ensuring that staff/volunteers are present for all shifts, making calls to volunteers/employees as appropriate to fill shifts, hiring and training, and ensuring completion of daily duties.

Key responsibilities include imparting programs and events in a responsible, service-oriented manner that supports a culture of safety, where an emphasis on safety and applicable rules of play/safety guidelines are enforced.

This Summer Seasonal position is a Full-Time, 40 hours per week position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Must have one (1) or more years of customer service experience.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES REQUIRED
  • Basic CPR, AED, and First Aid Certifications are required within 60 days of hire.
  • Preventing Disease Transmission (PDT) required within 60 days of hire.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable MVR required at time of hire.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • One (1) or more years of leadership experience preferred.
  • Experience coordinating/planning special events preferred.

Hiring Pay Range: $22.00 - $24.65 per hour.

WORK SCHEDULE

This is a Full-Time Summer Seasonal position that typically starts the beginning of April and goes through mid-September. Primary shifts for this position generally include eight (8) hour shifts, ranging from early mornings to late nights, based on programs and special event schedules. Individuals in this position must be flexible in terms of availability, and may on occasion be required to work other shifts as needed, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
