Quality Engineering Manager

Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Quality Inspection and Quality Engineering departments. Directly supervises inspection and quality engineering functions. Reviews inspection data daily. Prepares weekly and monthly quality summaries and drives continuous improvement throughout organization.

• Experience in managing Quality Engineering and Quality Inspection functions
• BS degree in a technical discipline (other degrees plus experience may be substituted)
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in contract manufacturing with a good understanding of the process
• Working knowledge of ISO 9000 and AS 9100. ISO 13485 and NADCAP knowledge a plus.

• Develops statistical methods for control of process including control charts, GR&R, capability studies, Cpk.
• Interfaces on a technical basis with other functional areas
• Interfaces with internal customers, external customers, and suppliers in problem resolution and continuous improvement
• Assists in the development of training programs for Quality and Production personnel for all quality areas
• Performs gap analysis of quality and analyzing monthly trending reports of key quality indicators to ensure continuous improvement
• Leads continuous improvement activities and champions 6S throughout the workplace
• Reviews and approves work instructions and quality control/inspection plans as needed
• Devises sampling procedures and designs, and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating and reporting quality and reliability data
• Supports product/quality failure investigations, define investigational strategy
• Manages and directs the activities of inspectors and the quality engineering department to ensure consistency and compliance with customer requirements and company procedures
• Processes RMA’s, keeps track of them and provides feedback to our processes as needed
• Maintains equipment and calibration recall system in accordance with ISO standards
• Assists Engineering with evaluation, documentation, validation and implementation of new equipment
• Oversees non-conforming material handling and disposition of material
• Support concurrent engineering efforts by participating in DFM projects representing Quality Assurance and the customer
