Where You Will WorkConsolidated Aerospace Manufacturing (CAM) is the primary division of Stanley Black & Decker Aerospace. CAM is a leading innovator and strategic partner in the manufacturing of fasteners, fittings, and engineered products for aerospace, defense, and industrial markets.
Who You AreThe successful candidate will have the ability to set‑up and operate two cold heading machines and will follow the quality policy and production standards of CAM Fasteners.
Essential Functions- Practice and train operators to work safely.
- Demonstrate the ability to set up, operate and troubleshoot cold heading machines.
- Practice and train operators to produce quality products utilizing manufacturing drawings, process control documents, training materials, and departmental work instructions.
- Practice and train operators to efficiently and effectively maximize the output of the production equipment.
- Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with operators, supervision and support teams.
- Demonstrate the safe use of all shop support equipment necessary to prepare or modify tooling.
- Practice and train operators to utilize all internal forms of measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, gages, etc.
- Evaluate and communicate machine conditions and/or concerns to both maintenance and supervision.
- Practice and train operators to keep machines in best operating conditions, including replacing worn fasteners, machine parts or tooling.
- Work with minimal supervision to independently perform the job of Set‑up Header Operator.
- Set and operate cold heading machines as required by demand or the direction of supervision.
- Efficiently produce quality products that meet all expectations.
- Maintain the workplace in a safe, clean operating condition on a daily basis.
- Communicate all pertinent and/or necessary information to fellow employees.
- Gather materials for production such as part drawings, tool drawings, production schedules, production requirements and reports.
- Report production and set‑up in the K‑Lite production tracking system.
- Detect and report faulty machine and/or equipment conditions, material anomalies, part or tool drawing discrepancies or other unusual shop‑floor activities.
- Must be able to lift approximately 50 lbs. from floor level to waist, and waist to floor on a repeated basis.
- Must be able to stand for the entire shift.
- Must be able to work in an un air‑conditioned shop environment.
- Able to bend, twist, and squat in sometimes awkward positions for prolonged periods while exerting force on hand tools used to adjust machine.
- Visual acuity for detailed work.
- Manual dexterity.
- Familiarity and ability to set up and operate Okuma hot and cold header.
- Experience working with A286 and Waspalloy on heading.
- Proficiency in engineering drawing reading and use of measuring tools.
- Minimum of three years in aerospace fasteners manufacturing, preferably with nuts manufacturing.
- Additional experience on national and/or Jern Yao nut‑forming setup operation is a plus.
$30–$40/hr.
