Plating Operator

Location: Brea, CA

Schedule: Full-Time, Onsite

Position Summary

The Plating Operator is responsible for performing a variety of chemical and plating processes used in PCB manufacturing, ensuring panels are processed accurately and efficiently through each required step. This role operates wet process and plating equipment, monitors chemical conditions, performs routine inspections, and maintains strict adherence to quality, safety, and environmental standards. The Plating Operator supports overall production flow by ensuring all products meet company and customer specifications for quality and on-time delivery.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Execute plating and chemical process steps for PCB manufacturing, including copper plating, acid/tin plating, electroless copper, nickel, soft gold, hard gold, and all related cleaning and stripping processes.
  • Perform resist strip, copper etch, solder strip, and associated wet processes according to established procedures.
  • Conduct routine chemical preventative maintenance to ensure stable bath conditions and reliable equipment performance.
  • Inspect product and process stages to verify compliance with specifications and identify potential issues.
  • Follow all work instructions and order-specific requirements with precision.
  • Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to chemical handling, safety, and waste management.
  • Coordinate with Waste Treatment to properly handle and dispose of spent chemicals.
  • Adhere to company safety protocols for equipment, chemical use, and PPE requirements.
  • Support Production and Engineering teams on product flow, quality initiatives, and process improvement activities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support department operations.
Job Qualification
  • High school diploma preferred.
  • 2-6 years of plating or wet process experience in PCB manufacturing or a similar electronics production environment.
  • Ability to read and follow technical work instructions and production documentation.
  • Ability to wear full PPE, including gloves, safety glasses, face shields, aprons, and chemical-resistant footwear.
  • Comfortable working around chemical processes in controlled environments.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Proven ability to maintain quality standards and perform reliably in a fast-paced production environment.
Physical Requirements
  • Able to lift 25 pounds without straining
  • Able to stand throughout the entire shift
