position and trainingunder immediate supervision, attends a peace officers standards and training approved basic police academy; and performs other related duties as assigned. This is a non-safety trainee position. Promotion to police officer is contingent upon successful completion of the basic academy and the recommendation of the police chief. During training, incumbents do not have police powers, but are subject to the rules and regulations of the brea police department and the police academy attended.
supervisiongeneral supervision is provided by a member of the brea police department field training officer team.

Management reserves the right to add, modify, change or rescind work assignments as needed.

: graduation from high school or the g.e.d. Equivalent.
