Mechanical Engineering Tech

Pay Range: $25/hr - $32/hr

• Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes. Produces engineering documents, reports, and drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics).
• Prepares reports and summaries, including quantitative analysis.
• Provides completion of technical tasks.
• Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks.
• Helps scope equipment for use and complete qualifications.
• Works with the team on general lab functions, including calibration, implementation of safety procedures, and routine equipment maintenance.
• Notifies manager or team lead upon recognition of factors that may affect the project.
• Helps develop prototype processes and test set‑ups.
• Executes designed test protocol and conducts testing.
• Effectively documents and communicates test results.
• Handles test samples and chemicals used for conditioning and testing.

• Minimum education requirement is a high school diploma, with experience in a lab environment (corporate or school) or technician experience in a regulated environment for a minimum of 6 years, experience following written procedures and working collaboratively with a team.
• Preferred:
  Bachelor of Science in a technical area and at least 1 year of experience in a laboratory/R&D setting following written procedures and working collaboratively with a team.

• Ability to understand and perform designed test procedures.
• The ability to work effectively in a cross‑functional group and communicate effectively with the lab team and extended team members.
• Develops solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope.
• Proficiency in personal computers.
• Ability to train lower‑level technicians.
