The Configuration Management Supervisor oversees all configuration management activities in our aerospace manufacturing environment, providing leadership across configuration control, PLM administration, engineering change management, and technical data governance while ensuring compliance with internal, customer, and regulatory requirements. This role requires strong technical expertise, people leadership, and cross-functional collaboration to maintain accuracy and efficiency across the product lifecycle, with U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required.
Responsibilities- Lead, mentor, and supervise the Configuration Management / Document Control team, setting goals, standard work, and best practices
- Serve as the primary configuration management point of contact across Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Program Management
- Direct all configuration management and document control activities to ensure accurate control of engineering data and product structures throughout the lifecycle
- Chair and lead the Change Control Board (CCB), ensuring engineering changes are complete, approved, traceable, and fully implemented
- Own and administer the PLM system, including user access, workflows, governance, training, and continuous improvement
- Create, test, and maintain PLM workflows, SOPs, and procedures in partnership with Engineering and IT
- Ensure data integrity and alignment between PLM and ERP systems, including BOM accuracy
- Lead and support internal and external audits related to configuration management, technical data, and regulatory compliance
- Support ITAR classification and technical data governance activities
- Track and report metrics related to change cycle time, accuracy, compliance, and workload
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, quality, and cross-functional alignment
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred (Equivalent experience may be considered).
- Minimum 7 years of experience in configuration management, engineering, or manufacturing within an aerospace or regulated manufacturing environment.
- Minimum 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with PLM systems and engineering change management processes.
- Strong background in procedure development, process improvement, and cross functional collaboration.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and decision making skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interface effectively at all organizational levels.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel) and related business systems.
