The Accountant is responsible for a range of accounting and bookkeeping support functions, including but not limited to compiling, analyzing, and reporting financial data, as well as performing audits and resolving discrepancies for our third-party services.
Job Responsibilities- Prepares and/or reviews and approves staff journal entries.
- Reviews and approves monthly prepared G/L account reconciliations.
- Resolve third-party sellers’ invoice discrepancies by effectively communicating with Account Managers and addressing seller inquiries.
- 3-way matching of invoices and processes.
- Complete month-end close duties accurately and timely (e.g., recording, variance analysis, etc.).
- Prepare/review reconciliations for various balance sheet accounts.
- Responsible for various function-based accounting activities (e.g., revenue deferrals, accrual expenses, recording of legal expenses, technology expenses, marketing, etc.).
- Analyze balances to ensure accuracy. Identify and communicate unreconciled items to management.
- Proactively identify and implement process improvements.
- Support accounting management with special projects and ad hoc requests.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Minimum 2-3 years of accounting and/or finance experience
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Advanced understanding and knowledge in accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, Net Suite)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written skills in both English and Mandarin
, with the ability to effectively communicate across various organizational levels - Thorough knowledge of general ledger accounting and account reconciliation
- Remarkable detail-orientation and problem-solving capabilities
- Accounting and/or finance experience in the eCommerce and/or Consumer Product Goods (CPG) industry
