** position summary:
** the buyer is responsible for purchasing materials, supplies, and equipment for our manufacturing business. The buyer will work with staff across departments to make purchases based on requirements.
** principle duties (includes, but is not limited to):
*** excellent communications skills (verbal and written)
* proficiency in ms office (preferred)
* detail oriented
* ability to meet deadlines
* strong organizational skills
* ability to multitask
* negotiating with suppliers
* processing purchase orders
* tracking / expediting orders
* implementing cost and lead time reductions through the sourcing of alternate parts and suppliers
* collaborating with other departments to achieve business requirements
* identifying opportunities for pricing/lead time improvements
* managing vendor relationships
* performing all other duties as assigned by supervisor
** essential qualifications / experience:
*** bachelor’s degree in business preferred
* 3+ years of experience in buying/purchasing in a manufacturing environment.
* ability to work and interact with departments throughout the organization.
* excellent excel, microsoft office, hfm and netsuite knowledge, preferred.
* excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
* strong attention to detail and accuracy.
* strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* ability to prioritize tasks and responsibilities.
