Position: GENERAL MANAGER, ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES AND FOOD & NUTRITION

Job Summary

As a General Manager
, you’ll oversee the overall operations and efficient management of environmental services/housekeeping and food and nutrition departments across two 25-bed hospitals. This role is responsible for achieving financial goals, maintaining service standards, and leading a team of 18 associates, including one manager based ng part of the management team is about making a difference. Key Responsibilities
  • Manage environmental services and food and nutrition at Clay Hospital and environmental services at Williamsport Hospital
  • Ensure financial targets are met across both sites
  • Maintain high standards of service and operational efficiency across departments
  • Demonstrate expertise in all aspects of food service management with a proven track record of success
  • Take full ownership of operations, ensuring all service timelines and client expectations are met
  • Manage financials including budget planning, development, analysis, and reporting
  • Maintain a proactive and positive attitude while interacting professionally with associates, peers, managers, suppliers, clients, and customers
  • Show initiative and sound judgment when assisting customers, clients, and team members
  • Conduct regular management meetings to align on goals and performance
  • Evaluate problems quickly and accurately, making appropriate recommendations
  • Audit units to ensure compliance with company policies, government regulations, and accrediting agency standards related to food storage, preparation, sanitation, and record keeping
  • Hire, train, and onboard new management associates
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two or more years of environmental services or food and nutrition management experience preferably in a hospital or related healthcare environment
  • Retail operational food service management experience preferred, flexible depending upon formal degree or training
  • Good knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, marketing and presentation
  • P&L accountability and contract-managed service experience as well as knowledge of financial, budgetary, accounting and computational practices
  • Supervisory, leadership, management and coaching skills
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to communicate on various levels to include management, customer and associate levels
  • Proficient computer skills to include; various computer programs, Microsoft Office programs, e-mail and the Internet
