Location

Mexico, Brazil, Guatemala, Belize, Colombia, Ecuador, and Argentina. Employees are required to be physically located in Mexico, Brazil, Guatemala, Belize, Colombia, Ecuador, or Argentina during their employment with TNC. Candidates from other locations are encouraged to apply; however, TNC will not cover relocation costs if you accept an offer made by TNC for this position.

We're Looking for You

The Development Program Specialist II will apply their skills to a functional team of organizational priority within a development program. The team will be responsible for providing resources such as research, gift processing, prospect tracking, stewardship, etc.

What We Can Achieve Together

The Development Program Specialist II will work towards meeting the strategic priorities of the team by developing and implementing tactics for approved plans, and completing and organizing multiple tasks and activities. They will identify individual priorities based on the needs of the program. They will manage, track, and report on key data related to the team scope and priorities. The Specialist will perform independent analysis of key program data, which may include donor or gift information.

They will be responsible for processing gifts. They will provide recommendations and targeted training related to the functional area of the team. The Specialist II must have advanced knowledge of the systems and resources utilized by the team in order to provide programmatic support and coordinate communications related to the resources. They will have substantial contact with stakeholders and may serve as the lead liaison with partners.

They take on additional duties to enhance the work of the team, duties may include, but are not limited to, a more significant role in training, developing documentation, and/or enhancing the systems and tools used by the team. The Specialist II will keep up-to-date on market trends and best practices in order to improve services. They will adapt processes and implement recommended practices in order to improve effectiveness based on their in-depth understanding of related policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

& Scope
  • Act independently on assigned tasks and exercise independent judgment based on analysis and experience.

  • Coordinate projects with several variables, work within a defined timeline and budget.

  • Does not supervise any staff, but may supervise interns, volunteers, and/or temporary staff.

  • Interpret and apply TNC policies and procedures to diverse situations, monitor and track policy and procedural changes, and adjust LAR processes as needed to ensure compliance and alignment

  • Financial Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with finance teams to track revenue, create award IDs, review budgets for conditional gifts, request fund releases, lead pledge certification, and provide support on development-related financial topics.

  • Assist Finance in managing philanthropic and contractual revenue streams.

  • Process invoices and fund transfers accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Provide centralized Philanthropy Revenue Operations support to all LAR Business Unit

  • Provide input through project teams for the improvement of existing programs.

  • Refer difficult questions and unusual problems to Batch review, Pledge review, FRC, PRMO

  • Travel and work flexible hours.

  • Work environment involves only infrequent exposure to disagreeable elements and minor physical exertion and/or strain.

  • Work is diversified and may not always fall under established practices and guidelines.

  • Work within scope of program's strategic goals.

  • Specific activities:

  • Gift coding and revenue tracking: (1) analyze gift related documentation (agreements, pledge forms, donor interactions) thoroughly to determine and create codes based on type of revenue and donor requirements; (2) follow SOPs/established guidelines and best practices; (3) work with specialized teams to ensure all revenue is accurately and timely entered in the constituent management system; (4) Data entry in constituent management system;

    (5) Process adjustments to revenue on an as-needed basis; (6) Monitor conditional gifts/pledges and work with Conservation and Finance to adjust as conditions are met. (6) Maintain revenue and gift coding tracking tools.

  • Collaborate with fundraisers in region to advise on potential conditions and over restricted funds.

  • Lead quarterly audits on the Master Donor File. Collaboratively with Development coordinator to ensure data hygiene.

  • Coordenate and process pledge payments reminders and report requirements, track key data on BBCRM, actively participate as needed on the stewardship process.

  • Coordenate quarterly Pledge Review and Certification process along with Finance teams and follow up on action items on the Dev Ops side, ensuring that all adjustments are processed and RMs are sending pledge payments reminders timely.

  • Send weekly revenue reports to ensure to kick start the stewardship process.

  • Travel and work overtime as needed.
