As a key member of the Canadian Leadership Team, the Planning Manager will lead the strategic and operational development of the Planning function during the start‑up and ramp‑up of Hilton Foods Canada.
This role is critical in building a high‑performing, engaged, and inclusive workforce that supports the company’s growth and operational excellence.

This is a role in which you can influence, bring new ideas and develop the Hilton Foods Canada operation in our organisation. You will bring a passion for continually improving the operational performance and people capability on our brand new site in Canada.
Purpose of the role:To manage all aspects of the planning operations at site to achieve the required Hilton Foods standards of customer service level, production and material movements, cost control and overall optimization of resources allocation.
Strategically to be a strong participant and team player with the Management, Operations and the Commercial team and to secure the parameters and KPI’s of the high tech Hilton Quintiq Planning application.
Main activities of the business processes- Manage the team of the planning department
- All planning processes are under ongoing development and kept up to date
- You create a motivating working environment where learning – development and coaching ensures that your team always performs to their best. Considering many tasks and short deadlines.
- Providing clear data from sales performance/production results to management. Business KPI’s
- Exploring efficiencies within current Quintiq solutions and in the planning processes lining them up.
- Stock management of retail, primal and dry goods.
- Planning operations set up: develop and maintain all planning processes and procedures using the Hilton Quintiq application
- Planning management: plan, organise, direct and control all activities related to the planning function from forecast data processing through to daily production plan including communication of planning data and issues to all relevant departments
- Planning and scheduling: based on the most recent updated sales forecast produce and distribute daily production plans so that all daily sales orders are fulfilled on time, efficient production and logistics and required customer service level is achieved. Survey and communicate detailed weekly planned needs for primal, packaging, production capacities and component usage by line and shift
- Supply chain support: to be involved in stock control procurement and logistics at site as well as supporting the overall supply chain function. Proactively identify stock shortages and overs, communicating and resolving the issues and advising purchasing and other departments of potential service issues.
- Effectiveness of operations: ensure efficient planning of production and timely communication of planning data to relevant departments. Utilize all IT and software available for the Quintiq application to its maximum potential. Make sure that for planning purposes the most up to date data are always used.
- Team management: ensure proper availability of trained planning team members. Effectively co‑ordinate staffing across planning team and ensure optimal use and development of staff for the planning department.
- Participate/hold meetings, with Planning team and DRM’s
- Tracking production results/capacities
- Communication with costumer, relationship management
- Reporting like service levels, downgrades, shorts, over‑codes,KPI’s
- Participates in the roster to execute daily operation tasks
- Able to cover targeted tasks of other planning team members in case of absence
- Participates, contributes and delivers data for the S&OP meetings
- Ability and proven experience in Planning
- Experience in manufacturing, supply chain, retail sector
- Experience with ERP systems
- Experience in S&OP
