Infrastructure Engineer

As a key member of the Canadian Team, the IT Junior Infrastructure Engineer will be critical to the strategic and operational development of the IT function during the start-up and ramp-up of Hilton Foods Canada.

This role is critical in building a high-performing, engaged, and inclusive workforce that supports the company’s growth and operational excellence.

To support the smooth day-to-day IT operations of the production facility by providing first-line infrastructure and technical support. This role is ideal for someone early in their IT career who is eager to gain hands‑on experience, develop practical infrastructure skills, and work in a dynamic, fast‑paced production environment.

• Provide first-line support for production IT systems, including switches, routers, wireless access points, PCs, and meeting room technology (projectors, video conferencing, and audio systems).
• Assist the IT Infrastructure team in monitoring and maintaining production IT systems, escalating issues as required.
• Support incident response and troubleshooting to minimise service disruption.
• Assist with maintaining server rooms and comms cabinets, ensuring equipment is organised, labelled, documented, and compliant with safety standards.
• Assist with hardware installations, patching apologies, routine maintenance, and approved infrastructure changes.
• Maintain accurate documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and asset records.
• Adhere to IT policies, security standards, and best practices.
• Perform occasional out-of-hours installation and maintenance work when required.

• Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs).
• Familiarity with IT hardware and cabling standards.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, especially in managing physical infrastructure.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

• Exposure to ITIL practices or similar service management frameworks.
• Experience working in a production or manufacturing environment.
