Minimum Qualifications:
Secondary school education General knowledge of cemetery environment Good supervisory skills Communication skills including basic computer operation Ability to deal with bereaved families Knowledge of ability to implement safe work practices (in compliance with applicable legislation, i.e.
Occupational H&S Act, County of Brant Policies and Procedures, Book 7, workplace inspections, hazard recognition) Must be able to perform manual work Ability to operate light and medium machinery Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Standard First aid, CPR, AED and WHMIS training Valid Class G driver’s license Acceptable Police Records Check Assets:
Chainsaw certification Duties:
Provides direction to part time staff and seasonal students Responds to questions and inquires regarding cemetery operations Performs administrative functions related to the division i.e., update card files/software, genealogical requests, cemetery inspections, photographing monuments, using GPS equipment Helps maintain records pertaining to plot sales, interments, maps and other aspects of cemetery operations.
Performs grave set up, openings, closings.
Assist Funeral Directors with on-site burial services Installs foundations and markers, performs minor monument repairs Maintains laneways, parking lots, sidewalks Grounds maintenance including grass cutting, trimming, tree maintenance, garbage removal, irrigation repairs, seasonal clean up, turf restoration Inspects and maintains buildings, cemeteries, vehicles and equipment Performs housekeeping duties Other relevant duties as assigned Hourly Rate Range: $25.91- $29.02 40 hours per week Duration:
