Overview of Unit
Branson Stepdown/Progressive Care Unit is similar to a cardiac/neuro tele floor, caring for patients with a higher level of acuity than those on med/surg floors. Nurse to patient ratio is 1:4-5
Gray rooms:
These are designated for the more acutely ill patients. Nurses care for patients requiring BiPAP initiation, Optiflow, cardiac gtts, and insulin gtts.
White rooms:
These include patients with stroke, STEMI/NSTEMI, cardiac, respiratory, renal conditions, and ETOH patients on telemetry.

Assess patient health problems and needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and maintain medical records. Administer nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled patients. May advise patients on health maintenance and disease prevention or provide case management.
Education- Required:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program or NLN approved program - Preferred:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
- Preferred:
Previous nursing experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrate effective leadership abilities
- Exhibits valuable time management skills
- Strong critical thinking/problem solving skills.
- Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment.
- Required:
RN license active in the state of Missouri
