A registered nurse is sought for a contract position at a leading rehabilitation and critical illness care center located in Branson, MO. This role centers on delivering high-quality nursing care in a patient-focused environment that prioritizes safety and excellence. Candidates will engage in comprehensive nursing assessments, care planning, and patient education, contributing to multidisciplinary rehabilitation efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission; develop individualized care plans.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to identify teaching needs and set goals.
- Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in medical records.
- Participate actively in rehabilitation programs, applying the nursing process to deliver direct patient care.
- Initiate discharge planning from admission, providing targeted patient and family education.
- Communicate changes in patient status to care providers ensuring continuity and safety.
- Provide supervision and training to ancillary nursing personnel; delegate tasks appropriately.
- Uphold personal and environmental safety standards per hospital policies.
- Foster a positive work environment through teamwork and effective communication.
- Manage resources efficiently, including supplies and clinical training.
- Assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed after orientation.
- Pursue ongoing professional development and prioritize workload to meet patient needs.
Experience:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure with competencies aligned to patient population.
- Experience in critical illness and rehabilitation nursing preferred.
- Strong clinical decision-making, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.
- Commitment to patient and employee safety practices.
