Overview
We are looking for Building Inspectors! Put your construction and code knowledge to work inspecting all phases of building projects in Branson. From plan reviews to site inspections, no two days are the same—and your expertise helps keep our city safe and growing strong!
Responsibilities- Conduct building inspections and minor plan reviews for code compliance.
- Inspect new construction, renovations, and repairs for quality and safety to verify construction aligns with approved plans and adopted codes.
- Read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
- Maintain accurate records of inspection activities and findings.
- A High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Three (3) years of experience in construction trades.
- Prior experience as a Building Inspector is preferred.
- Possess or obtain within six (6) months of hire date, a minimum of three (3) of the following inspection certifications:
International Code Council (ICC) Building, ICC Plumbing, ICC Electrical, ICC Residential, or ICC Mechanical. Certification must be current and maintained during term of employment. - Graduation from an accredited technical school program is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Possess a valid driver's license and be insurable under the City of Branson's motor vehicle coverage when operating a vehicle as a part of the position.
- Must possess no felony convictions at any time while employed by the City of Branson.
- Be able to pass a background investigation and drug and alcohol screenings.

The starting hourly wage is $20.86 per hour and will increase to $21.70 per hour after 6 months of successful probation. Please for the complete compensation/benefits information. Candidates with relevant experience and certifications may be considered for a higher starting rate.
Work Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Occasional after hours needed.
Work Location: City of Branson, Missouri;
This is an in-office position requiring work to be performed onsite as well as in and around the City of Branson, Missouri.
