Location: Guilford, CT (full-time, onsite)
Reports to: CEO
This is a senior, hands-on Controller/CFO role overseeing all accounting and finance operations for a small manufacturing company. The role combines day-to-day accounting ownership with strategic financial leadership, supporting profitability, cost control, and operational decision-making.
Responsibilities- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
- Oversee all accounting functions (GL, AP, AR, payroll, fixed assets)
- Manage month-end and year-end close and financial reporting
- Own manufacturing cost accounting, inventory, and variance analysis
- Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and working capital
- Maintain GAAP compliance, internal controls, and audit support
- Lead ERP/system improvements and develop the accounting team
- 10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience
- Manufacturing or inventory-based accounting background
- Experience in small to mid-sized, privately held companies
- CPA or public accounting experience is a plus
