Overview

The Nest – Shoreline Campus is a forward-thinking, Reggio-inspired early learning center. We are seeking inspired and enthusiastic individuals to join our staff as Toddler/Twos specialists at our Branford location. Alphabet Academy / The Nest are family-centered centers with a Reggio Emilia-based approach to childhood learning, activity, and play. Our teachers nurture curious and joyful children, provide kind and gentle attention, and foster engaging and creative classrooms.

Candidates must be passionate about infants and toddlers and committed to early childhood education. The ideal candidate will support colleagues as they build trusting relationships that encourage each child’s growth, development, and healthy attachments. We value relationships with children’s families and support them as they balance careers and family. We mentor, learn from, and partner with diverse professionals who have varied backgrounds, experiences, and learning styles.

The ideal candidate will quickly learn the school’s expectations, curriculum, and culture.

Responsibilities
  • Engage in intentional teaching practices grounded in the Reggio Emilia approach
  • Maintain a gentle, warm, and creative demeanor
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of the RIE approach to infant/toddler care
  • Collaborate with staff to support children’s growth, development, and healthy attachments
  • Foster strong home–school connections and positive relationships with families
  • Be outdoors-friendly and participate in weather-appropriate outdoor activities
Qualifications
  • Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree in early childhood education/development or related field (varies by position)
  • Passion for working with infants and toddlers
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to the school’s curriculum and culture
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Compensation
