Position Overview
1. To deliver and/or coordinate programming services offered at Brandon Riverbank. Programs typically include nature-based interpretive programming, Indigenous programming, the hosting of special events, and/or coordination of other large-scale celebrations. Programs may be fully hosted by Brandon Riverbank or be in partnership with community stakeholders.
2. To build and facilitate relationships with community. Outreach initiatives may be for the purpose of establishing programs, events, activities, awareness and/or for truth and reconciliation efforts. To encourage the connection of people and the land through recreation, education and celebration.
3. To promote Brandon Riverbank's programming efforts and community connection through social media or other channels while providing meaningful content creation.
Position Requirements- Knowledge and experience in program development, with a preference for experience working with nature-based or children's programs.
- Comfortable leading and participating in nature-based, outdoor, water and winter activities.
- Superior interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to be flexible to the situation.
- Ability to partner with community stakeholders for the delivery of programs, activities or events.
- Demonstrated organizational, time management while being able to solve problems and build teams.
- Proven ability to effectively balance the demands of multiple responsibilities, priorities, and personalities.
- Possess a valid driver's license and be able to travel and use a personal vehicle for work purposes.
- Able to work varied hours, evenings and/or holidays.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, the Internet, Canva, Mailchimp, and social media applications.
- Must have or be willing to complete a Child Abuse and Adult Abuse Registry Check, Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Search as well as first aid training.
- A degree or diploma in the fields of recreation, hospitality, education or tourism.
- Outdoor recreation or guiding certifications, such as those offered by the Outdoor Council of Canada, Paddle.
- Demonstrated experience in the building of outdoor recreational or interpretive programs.
- Demonstrated experience with social media platforms, marketing and/or content creation.
Reports to: Executive Director, Brandon Riverbank Inc.
Is the lead for: Summer Interpretive Coordinator, Indigenous lead program staff, and other summer staff when funding allows for such.
Position DetailsFull-time permanent, 37.5 hours per week with some evening and weekend work required.
Remuneration- The 2026 rate is under review.
- Matching RRSP Plan: 2.5% of salary, matched annually by Brandon Riverbank Inc.
