General Duty Ultrasound Technologist – Repost
Position OverviewUnder the general supervision of the Charge Medical Technologist or a designate, the General Duty Ultrasound Technologist delivers ultrasound services as defined at regional and local levels. The incumbent performs ultrasound scans requested by physicians and manages related patient management, exam requests, diagnostic file management, equipment and supplies. In unusual circumstances, the incumbent may assist with radiographic/ECG duties if appropriately trained and qualified.
The incumbent maintains a safe environment in accordance with professional and provincial guidelines and ensures compliance with quality assurance programs and accreditation standards. Functions are conducted in accordance with the Mission and Values of Shared Health, current policies, procedures and applicable legislation.
- Perform ultrasound scans for patients as requested by physicians.
- Manage patient records, exam requests and diagnostic files.
- Maintain equipment and supplies and support radiographic/ECG duties when required.
- Ensure compliance with quality assurance and accreditation guidelines.
Minimum 3 years related experience.
- Graduate of an approved and accredited Ultrasound training program.
- Registered Ultrasound Technologist with active registration with Sonography Canada or ARDMS.
- Registration with CAMRT is an asset.
- Proficient in Windows computer environment and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent oral and written English communication; bilingual (English/French) preferred.
- Attention to detail, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Confidentiality, adaptability and ability to work under pressure.

Benefits & Other InformationFTE 0.50 (part-time). Anticipated start ASAP. Work arrangement:
In person. Shift days; evenings. Salary $48,428 – $56,145. Requires current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check. Security check required no more than six (6) months prior to employment start.
