As a Permanent Part time Security Guard, your role will vary depending on the day and special event. Whether it’s customer service, patrols, surveillance, or cargo screening, we need you to adapt with agility and precision

Monitor the premises to ensure security and conduct regular patrols to identify suspicious activity.
Address incidents or potential threats quickly and effectively.
Write detailed and accurate reports on events and incidents.
Control access points and verify identification as required.
Provide excellent customer service while maintaining a secure environment.
Partner with authorities during serious or emergency situations.
Visually observe and screen cargo using approved screening equipment.
Operate screening equipment and interpret results to identify, locate, and prevent prohibited articles from being placed onto aircraft.
Perform all required screening-related record-keeping and documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
Operate all screening equipment in accordance with national, local, and UPS Health & Safety requirements.
Test the functionality of x-ray equipment prior to use and apply appropriate x-ray image enhancements based on the type of commodity being screened.
Ensure each package or consignment is free from prohibited articles, with final clearance and approval provided in accordance with UPS procedures.
Pay particular attention to dense or opaque packages and consignments, following the correct UPS procedures for clearing such items.
Follow all procedures outlined in the UPS MOP/LOP when a prohibited article is discovered, with particular emphasis on the identification and handling of suspected IEDs or IIDs
Need to have continuous residency in Canada for the past seven (7) years
Successful completion of a criminal background check
Three (3) professional references supporting and verifying work history
A minimum of five (5) years of verifiable work and residence history with no unexplained gaps of 28 days or more
Hold a valid security license - Asset
First Aid certification – required
Ability to think quickly and adapt to changing situations
Strong problem-solving skills
Ability to operate x-ray and screening equipment in compliance with regulatory and safety standards
Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret screening images accurately
