Directly responsible to Extrusion Shift Supervisor. The Die Polisher must communicate well with the schedulers, press crew and all other plant personnel. Functionally responsible for maintenance of all extrusion dies to achieve maximum yield/productivity.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities of the Die Polisher are detailed below, but not limited to the following:
Prepare dies according to required press schedules in cooperation with the Scheduling Dept.Deliver the required dies to applicable pressesHelp ensure graphite blocks are made available for dies requiring themIsolate dies to be corrected and ensure caustic attendant is informed of priority diesInspect & polish dies as required. Recognize defects/abnormalities and bring to the attention of correction staff or supervisorComply with all quality related policies, procedures and system requirementsRequirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience
Minimum Grade 10 educationBasic Knowledge of extrusion process with exposure to tooling/dies an assetTechnical Skills/Competence
Must be able to read technical drawingsCandidate must be willing and able to work with caustics and comfortable lifting up to 50 poundsEpics and outlook knowledge preferredQuality driven with attention to detail is a mustBenefits
