OPEN JOB: 310T (Truck and Coach) Fleet Maintenance Manager (Afternoon Shift)
LOCATION:
Brampton, Ontario
*** Relocation Assistance Available
SALARY - CAD C $90,000 to C $105,000
*** Bonus Eligible
SHIFT:
Monday to Friday from 2pm - 10:30 pm
IDEAL CANDIDATE:
- 5yrs leadership experience (preferably managing a team of technicians/mechanics)
- Experience managing a team of 310T (Truck and Coach) mechanics or heavy duty mechanics
- Able to work Monday to Friday from 2pm - 10:30 pm
- Experience in a unionized environment
- 310T license preferred
- The Fleet Maintenance Manager is responsible for managing the full fleet of primary and secondary equipment and continually focuses on achieving market base profitability through effective management of all fleet and maintenance activities within the assigned area, including cost control, management development, and high training and safety standards.
- Direct supervision of 7 front-line employees including 310T Techs, Apprentice Tech and 1 Welder
- Ensures safe and reliable vehicles are available to meet operational requirements. Conducts fleet evaluations to ensure maintenance standards are met.
- Reviews capital equipment requisitions in line with Corporate guidelines and objectives.
- Manages effective utilization of vehicle assets.
- Ensures maintenance shops are adequately staffed and mechanics are properly trained.
- Ensures vehicle management systems are effectively utilized.
- Complies with and ensures adherence to the company's Mission to Zero standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient operations.
- Meets all financial review dates and corporate directed programs in a timely fashion.
- Assists in budget process as required.
- Assists in creating a positive team-oriented environment through employee development and motivation.
- Ensures the cleanliness and maintenance of the maintenance shops through regular inspections and preventive maintenance programs.
- Oversees personnel needs of the department including selecting, coaching, and training staff and maintenance managers, and evaluating employee performance. Provides input into termination, compensation, and promotion decisions.
- Motivates, coaches, counsels and disciplines managers according to the company's policies and procedures and ensures that maintenance managers are in compliance with the standards in their administration of counseling and disciplinary steps.
- Provides training and presentations as needed in a positive and professional manner.
- Bachelor's Degree (accredited), or in lieu of Degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and 4 years of relevant experience
- 5 years previous experience (in addition to education requirements)
- Experience managing a team of technicians/mechanics in a unionized environment.
- 310T license considered an asset
