ABOUT THE PROJECT:
Our client is launching a structured Power BI Enablement & Certification Program aimed at reducing dependency on IT reporting teams and building internal business capability. The engagement will support approximately 10+ non-technical business users in a hybrid environment (Brampton HQ + remote participants).
The consultant will design and deliver a three-level Power BI program (Beginner to Advanced), including practical assignments and certification assessments aligned to the client’s operational and ERP datasets.
This is a 5–6-week structured engagement, delivered in half-day training sessions.
ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES:
In this role, you will design and deliver a multi-level Power BI Enablement & Certification Program for business users, ensuring measurable skill progression from foundational knowledge to advanced “Power User” capability. You will work closely with business stakeholders and participants to build reporting independence and reduce IT ticket volume.
Key responsibilities include:
Designing structured curriculum for three learning levels (Foundations, Intermediate, Advanced)
Delivering 6–8 half-day training sessions (hybrid format)
Facilitating 3 half-day onsite sessions in Brampton, ON
Developing practical exercises and business-relevant assignments
Designing and evaluating certification assessments
Reviewing dashboards and providing structured feedback
Supporting development of internal Power BI champions
Advising on reporting best practices and basic governance standards
REQUIREMENTS:
Must-have:
5+ years of hands-on Power BI experience (Desktop & Service)
Strong practical DAX knowledge (business-focused, intermediate level)
Solid understanding of data modeling fundamentals (fact/dimension, relationships)
Experience training or mentoring non-technical business users
Experience working with enterprise datasets (ERP, supply chain, retail, finance, etc.)
Strong communication and facilitation skills
Incorporated consultant (or willing to incorporate)
Nice-to-have:
Experience in supply chain, retail, or distribution environments
Experience designing structured curriculum and certification frameworks
Experience reducing IT reporting dependency in enterprise settings
Familiarity with governance and deployment best practices
Analytics-related certifications
ABOUT THE ROLE:
Location:
Hybrid – Brampton, ON (3 half-day onsite sessions) + Remote
Work hours:
Approximately 50–65 total hours across the engagement
PAY DISCLOSURE:
The average hourly pay range for this field is as follows:
Junior: 0–5 years of experience in area of expertise — $70–$90/hr
Intermediate: 6–9 years of experience in area of expertise — $90–$105/hr
Senior: 10+ years of experience in area of expertise — $105–$120/hr
Compensation is commensurate with these standards; exceptions may apply based on experience, skills, and market conditions.
