Scope
The Senior Financial Data & BI Analyst is responsible for consolidating and standardizing financial and operational data from multiple enterprise systems to deliver accurate, reconciled, and trusted business intelligence outputs. This role partners closely with Finance and cross-functional teams to ensure data integrity, consistency, and alignment with financial records. This role will consolidate data across two ERPs, a CRM, logistics systems, and spreadsheets, and build accurate, reconciled, and standardized reporting outputs.

The position will own the process of investigating source systems, designing standardization rules, validating data against GL, billing, and revenue recognition, and delivering trustworthy BI assets.

Duties & Responsibilities

Data Discovery & Extraction (SQL Server)

Analyze SQL Server database schemas to understand the data structure and relationships

Write advanced SQL queries (joins, CTEs, aggregations) to extract financial and operational data from ERP database tables

Design and build SQL scripts that extract, validate, and reconcile ERP transaction data (including revenue, sales, and GL postings) into standardized datasets used for period-end close and audit procedures

Create staging tables, mapping tables, and QA datasets for reconciliation.

Reconciliation & Financial Validation

Perform reconciliations against:
General Ledger (GL), Billing systems, Revenue recognition outputs

Perform variance analysis, completeness checks, tie-outs, and exception tracking.

Document reconciliation logic and provide audit-ready evidence.

Standardization & Rule-Building

Build a global standardized category model that unifies inconsistent ERP, CRM, logistics, and spreadsheet data

Develop rulesets (conditional logic) to categorize non-uniform data into predefined categories

Create and maintain mapping tables; ensure rules are transparent, testable, and repeatable

Power BI Reporting & Data Modeling

Build semantic models, DAX measures, dataflows, and dashboards in Power BI

Implement refresh pipelines and monitor data quality

Deliver intuitive reports with drill-downs, filters, and standardized KPI logic

Documentation & Collaboration

Maintain complete documentation: definitions, mappings, data lineage, QA processes

Collaborate closely with Finance, Ops, Sales, and IT teams to refine requirements

Present reconciliation outcomes and ensure stakeholder confidence in final report

Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science,

Advanced SQL Server experience (complex queries, joins,)

Strong Power BI (Power Query, modeling, DAX)

Accounting/finance knowledge — especially GL flows, billing structures, and revenue recognition logic.

Experience with enterprise ERP systems (i.e Dynamics, SAP, Net Suite)

Experience working across multiple systems (ERPs, CRM, logistics, spreadsheets)

Strong reconciliation, variance analysis, and QA skills

Excellent documentation discipline

Experience building normalization/mapping frameworks across multi‑system environments

Background in distribution, supply chain or multi-entity business environment

Background in data governance, lineage, or audit compliance
