MILTONS is seeking a driven, customer‑focused Assistant Store Manager to help lead our retail team. This role is ideal for a high‑performing sales professional who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and is ready to take the next step in leadership.
The Assistant Store Manager partners closely with the General Manager to drive sales performance, deliver exceptional customer experiences, and oversee daily store operations.
What You'll Do Drive Sales Performance- Meet and exceed both store and personal sales goals
- Coach and support sales associates in achieving individual sales targets
- Ensure customers’ needs are fully met through effective probing, styling, and add‑on selling
- Reinforce product knowledge through weekly store meeting reviews
- Create memorable, relationship‑driven customer service experiences
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and efficiently
- Oversee proper execution of wedding parties from inquiry through final delivery
- Actively recruit high‑caliber sales associates
- Train team members in selling skills, merchandise knowledge, tailoring processes, and POS systems
- Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback
- Lead total store operations in the General Manager’s absence
- Supervise daily sales floor activity
- Assign daily projects and ensure smooth store execution
- Follow opening and closing procedures
- Maintain housekeeping and operational standards
- Oversee POS operations
- Process new merchandise and transfers according to company standards
- Replenish and maintain balanced inventory on the sales floor
- Maintain organized stockrooms
- Execute price changes and transfers accurately and promptly
- Ensure proper fixture signage and presentation standards
- Monitor competitive pricing and assortment
- Meet store shrinkage goals through:
- Accurate receipt and transfer processing
- Bi‑weekly category counts
- Participation in inventory preparation
- Loss prevention training for associates
- Proven retail sales experience with a strong personal selling record
- Leadership experience in a retail environment preferred
- Strong coaching and team development skills
- Detail‑oriented with strong operational execution
- Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment
- Customer‑first mindset with strong problem‑solving skills
Reports directly to the General Manager.
