The role involves delivering high standards of personal care and contributing to the care team to ensure continuity of services to residents.
Mainduties of the job
As a Care Assistant at Avery Healthcare, you will be responsible for assisting residents in all their personal hygiene care, ensuring optimum independence, dignity, and respect. You will also need to recognise and understand clinical risk areas in residents, such as weight loss, pressure sores, and risk of falls, and escalise any identified risks in a timely manner. Additionally, you will be expected to act courteously towards residents and their visitors, respecting the dignity and individuality of each resident, and to practice safe systems of work across the range of tasks.

Shift Details – day and night positions available.
Your focus as Care Assistant will be to deliver high standards of personal care, contributing fully to the care team to ensure continuity of services to residents.
- Assist residents in all their personal hygiene care ensuring optimum independence, dignity and respect of individuals at all times.
- Recognise and understand clinical risk areas in residents such as weight loss, pressure sores, risk of falls, signs of infections and escalise any identified risks in a timely manner.
- Act courteously towards residents and their visitors, respecting the dignity and individuality of each resident.
- Practice safe systems of work across the range of tasks.

- Have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrate initiative and be respectful towards the residents and other people in the home.
- Be an efficient worker who can carry reasonable instructions from other team members.
- Be able to be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.
Please note this role will require:
- A DBS Disclosure check, the cost of which will be met by Avery Healthcare.
- Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
No prior experience is required, as Avery Healthcare offers a thorough induction and training program to ensure confidence within the role. The ideal candidate must have the ability to communicate effectively, demonstrate initiative and respect towards residents and other people in the home, be an efficient worker who can carry reasonable instructions from other team members, and be able to adapt and be flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.
