Senior Civil Engineer

Location: Essex
Salary: Up to and around £55k DoE plus package

This established and growing, employee-owned multi-disciplinary consultancy is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join their expanding team.

Reporting to the Associate Engineer, you ll have the opportunity to lead projects, manage client relationships, and oversee the technical delivery across a range schemes, including residential, education, and commercial sector projects.



The Role

As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will manage the design and planning of construction and remedial civil engineering works, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest technical standards.
You will play a role in influencing project outcomes, supporting junior team members, and contributing to the wider operational success of the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead civil engineering projects to meet time, cost and quality targets
• Produce and approve technical designs, calculations and documentation
• Manage client relationships and act as key point of contact
• Coordinate internal teams and external consultants
• Attend site inspections, ensure H&S compliance and monitor project progress
• Oversee project meetings and contribute to strategic delivery decisions
• Manage project budgets, fee forecasts and tender reviews and support asset management reviews for clients
• Support and mentor junior engineers

About You

• Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering
• Strong design capability using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Info Drainage
• Experience delivering civil infrastructure projects from concept to completion
• A confident technical problem solver
• Commercial awareness and experience managing budgets and fee forecasts
• Experience working directly with clients and comfortable attending site visits
• Proven experience in a similar consultancy environment
• Experience in line management or mentoring junior engineers
