We are seeking an inspiring and experienced Head of Design Technology to lead a dynamic department at a forward-thinking secondary school near Braintree. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate educator to shape the future of DT education and drive excellence across the curriculum.

The Role:

· Lead and manage the Design Technology department, including curriculum planning and staff development

· Teach across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 desirable)

· Champion practical, project-based learning in areas such as product design, engineering, textiles, and food technology

· Oversee the use and maintenance of specialist equipment and workshop spaces

· Contribute to whole-school leadership and strategic development

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

· Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

· Proven experience teaching Design Technology

· Strong leadership skills and a collaborative approach

· A clear vision for high-quality DT provision

· Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education
