Architectural Technician

A little bit about the role...

We are currently recruiting for a Architectural Technician to join our Technical Department. Our projects are all bespoke and include new build residential developments ranging from large scale schemes of 1300 units to one-off refurbishment projects.

You will work within a multi-disciplined environment and be responsible for the production of detailed working drawings and specifications, whilst working closely with our in-house Land, contribution, Planning, Engineering, Construction, Commercial & Site teams.

The successful candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

• Effective coordination of full working drawings of (often complex) schemes
• Effective contribution to design meetings as required
• Comprehensive coordination of drawing amendments following prelim or addendum
• Collate and submit required information to clear Warranty and Building Control conditions to help secure statutory approvals
• Effective receipt and resolution of site queries
• Receipt and timely management of addendums
• Source all necessary information from external consultants for inclusion on working drawings
• Checking of sales brochures
• Checking subcontractor information for accuracy and completeness

What we’d like in return…

As a successful candidate you will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

• HNC (L5) in Construction (or equivalent)
• Proficient use of AutoCAD
• Up-to-date knowledge and effective application of UK building regulations
• Breadth of knowledge in construction methods/techniques and depth in traditional methods
• Effective understanding Negotiation of relevant design standards. I.e. Building warranties, regulations and party wall etc.
