St Josephs Medical Center Department: 4007590 SECURITY - SJMC Job Description: The Security Supervisor oversees day-to-day security operations and supervises security staff at assigned Essentia Health facilities to ensure the safety of patients, staff, visitors, and property. This role coordinates staffing coverage, ensures training and policy compliance, responds to non-routine security situations, and supports operational readiness and communication across the security team.

Education

Qualifications:

• Associates degree in law enforcement, criminology, or equivalent.
• Completion of training and competency in operation of Essentia Health Security and Emergency Preparedness Programs within 3 months of hire.

Work Experience:

• 3 years of progressively responsible security experience with demonstrated leadership experience.

• Oversees security operations and supervises security staff at assigned Essentia Health facilities.
• Ensures assigned members are fulfilling mission requirements supporting the protection and safeguard of patients, staff, and all other persons along with physical assets and facilities.
• Specific responsibilities include scheduling personnel to assure adequate security coverage on shifts, ensuring on-going job training for assigned officers is completed and enforcing security officer standards and enforcement of medical center rules, policies and procedures.
• Takes immediate actions to remedy security situations not covered by standard operating procedures.
• Duties include inspecting and ensuring the operability of equipment, maintaining open communication channels between management and staff, and ensuring security officers are complying with Essentia expectations.

• Valid driver’s license
• Completion of Basic Training for Healthcare Security Officers from the International Association of Healthcare Safety and Security (required within 1 year of hire) and renewal not required
