As part of our Healthy Families theme of the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration Yorkshire and Humber (YHARC) we are looking for a responsive researcher. Working closely with our Director of Child Health Research, this post would suit someone keen to work across the breadth of child health research, from babies to teenagers, using a variety of epidemiological methods, on a large range of data sources, and with colleagues from across the country.
The post is designed to be responsive to system needs and changing interests working in the group at present covers topics as diverse as vaccination, infant technology, frailty, obesity, and mental health.
The post holder will be involved in range of prospective and responsive child health and inequalities research and evaluation projects. Key areas of work will include:
- Stakeholder engagement - to explore research and evaluation ideas and develop appropriate proposals that align with available resources
- Applied epidemiology - describing large cohorts, investigating risk factors
- Evaluation - collaborating with data-science colleagues to evaluate study interventions
- Research support - helping colleagues do good quality research
- Research coordination - provide wider support which enables the YHARC Healthy Family theme deliver against its agreed objectives
