What difference will you make?

Community trust is built through authentic, face-to-face relationships. Your work will help Afrikindness reach families who may not have access to services online, break down barriers to participation, and ensure our programmes are truly community-led. You'll play a critical role in growing our reach and impact across Bradford.

What are we looking for?

  • Confident communicator, comfortable approaching people in public spaces
  • Culturally sensitive and skilled at building rapport with diverse families
  • Experience in community outreach, engagement, or grassroots organising
  • Passionate about social inclusion and family wellbeing
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently
  • Comfortable representing a charity in the community
What will you be doing?
  • Attend community events, family hubs, schools, and faith centres to promote Afrikindness's parent support programmes
  • Build relationships with local organisations, community leaders, and grassroots groups
  • Engage with parents and caregivers to understand their needs and encourage participation in our services
  • Distribute promotional materials, collect contact details (with consent), and follow up with interested families
  • Support the coordination of community-based activities, workshops, or drop-in sessions
  • Gather community feedback and insights to inform programme development
  • Represent Afrikindness professionally and inclusively at all times
  • Report back to the Team Lead on engagement activities and outcomes
