Salary: £28,744

Hours:

37.5 hours per week

* Monday–Thursday: 6:00am–2:00pm

* Friday: 6:00am–11:30am

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Bench Hand to join our prestigious engineering client in Shipley. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring that high-quality products are precisely assembled, inspected, and tested to meet strict industry and customer standards.

Key Responsibilities

As Bench Hand, you will:

* Inspect components and assemblies to ensure compliance with quality standards

* Assemble and test products on the workbench using hand tools and technical processes

* Read and interpret complex engineering drawings to fit, deburr, and finish parts

* Record inspection data and ensure accurate documentation

* Provide constructive feedback to the continuous improvement team

* Perform effective end-of-shift handovers to ensure workflow continuity

* Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workbench area

* Adhere to company quality procedures, safety regulations, and production targets

About You

To succeed in this role, you will need:

* Proven experience in bench fitting, assembly, or precision hand skills within an engineering environment

* Strong knowledge of quality systems, procedures, and inspection methods

* Ability to read engineering drawings and technical specifications

* Excellent attention to detail with strong problem-solving abilities

* Good communication skills and a proactive mindset

* Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
