School Caretaker - Supply

Randstad Education is currently looking for a dependable and skilled School Caretaker for a local school in Bradford. This is a hands-on role that requires a mix of technical ability, vigilance, and a friendly, "can-do" attitude.

As the caretaker, you will be responsible for the overall maintenance and security of the school site. Key duties include:

• Opening and Closing: Ensuring the school is secure at the start and end of each day.

• General Maintenance: Performing minor repairs such as fixing leaks, painting, and basic joinery.

• Health & Safety Compliance: Regular monitoring of fire safety equipment, heating systems, and water hygiene (Legionella).

• Grounds Maintenance: Keeping outdoor areas, paths, and playgrounds safe and clear of debris.

• Liaising with Contractors: Overseeing external workers when larger repairs are required.

To be considered for this role, you must fulfil the following:

• UK Experience: It is essential that you have previous experience in a caretaking, site maintenance, or facilities role within a UK setting.

• DBS Check: You must possess an Enhanced DBS (preferably on the update service) or be willing to undergo one immediately.

• Local Expertise: A good knowledge of the Bradford area is beneficial for managing local suppliers and site access.

• Versatility: You should be comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
