Band 6 Occupational Therapist – Adult Community Mental Health Team

Are you a passionate Occupational Therapist looking for an exciting new challenge where you can develop your skills within a supportive community mental health setting? If so, we have a fantastic full‑time opportunity for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our well‑established Adult Community Mental Health Team in the vibrant and multicultural city of Bradford.

As a service, we pride ourselves on delivering innovative, recovery‑focused interventions that empower people on their individual recovery journeys. Our approach includes a wide range of occupationally focused interventions, designed to support service users in achieving meaningful change in their day‑to‑day lives.

You will be joining a friendly, skilled, and collaborative multidisciplinary team consisting of Doctors, Occupational Therapists, Nurses, Psychologists, an Art Therapist, Social Workers, Peer Workers and Support Workers. Together, we deliver a recovery‑driven service aligned with our Care Closer to Home initiative.

Main duties of the job
  • Manage a rewarding clinical caseload, working closely with individuals to support their recovery and independence.
  • Deliver safe, effective and person‑centred rehabilitation, using your professional expertise to advocate for the people we serve.
  • Bring your evidence‑based Occupational Therapy skills to a dynamic multi‑disciplinary team, helping shape high‑quality interventions.
  • Play an active role in team communication, service development and continuous improvement, ensuring we provide the best care possible.
  • Offer supervision, guidance and support to colleagues, helping to nurture a positive and collaborative working environment.
  • Provide excellent practice‑placement education, supporting the next generation of Occupational Therapists.

Person Specification Essential
  • Significant post‑registration experience delivering occupational therapy in hospital or community setting
  • Experience working with people with a range of mental health problems
  • Degree or equivalent pre‑registration award in Occupational Therapy
  • State registration with the Health and Care Professions Council
  • Access to own transport and current driving licence
Desirable
  • Community or inpatient experience
  • Professional Practice education accreditation
