Salary: £72,000 per year, with an optional £1,500 skills allowance.

As a Doctor Functional Assessor at Maximus, you will use your clinical expertise to understand how a person’s disability or health condition affects their daily life. You will work on complex cases involving veterans, neurological conditions, industrial injuries, and respiratory diseases. A tailored training programme will support your success, with six weeks of training followed by ongoing mentorship.

• Conduct telephone, video, or face‑to‑face assessments to understand how a person’s disability or health condition affects their daily life.
• Produce Work Capability Assessment (WCA) reports to assist the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) in determining a person’s eligibility for benefits.
• Develop your clinical knowledge and assessment skills with regular feedback and supervision.

• Valid GMC registration number.
• At least one year of broad post‑registration experience gained within or outside the NHS.
• Right to work in the UK – no sponsorship is provided.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Comfortable using computer software to type and produce detailed reports.
