Job Summary
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic qualified Advanced Practitioner/Advanced Nurse Practitioner with prescribing to join our lovely team in Bradford City. We offer support and mentorship as well as the right level of autonomy. The position is for 4‑6 sessions per week / 2‑3 days ideally, but this is negotiable for the right candidate. We have been awarded a Gold award in Investors in People, have a CQC Good rating and are high QOF achievers.
Opportunities for development, special interests and a collaborative team with our salaried GPs are included.
- Telephone triage, face‑to‑face clinics, pathology management and development of team and peer support
- Prescribing efficiently and effectively within boundaries
- Manage a clinical caseload, dealing with presenting patients’ needs in a primary care setting
- Provide clinical leadership within the practice
- Manage own clinical workload responding effectively to patient need and ensuring patient choice and ease of access to services
- Be available to mentor and support other nurses and healthcare assistants in developing and maintaining clinical skills
Salary: depending on experience.
Contract:
Permanent.
Working pattern:
Full‑time, Part‑time, Flexible working.
- RN 1st Level, current NMC Registration, registered nurse prescriber
- Understanding of NHS Plan/NSFs and implications for Primary Care
- Evidence of having or willing to undertake advanced education and training in clinical examination, history taking, therapeutic communication, pharmacology, pathophysiology, etc.
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Minimum of 2 years post‑registration experience working in primary / community / acute health care setting
- Minimum of 1 year experience managing the care of patients in the primary care setting
- Experience of providing effective health education and health promotion to patients presenting with a range of health needs
- Completed Nurse Practitioner (Primary Care) Post‑Graduate level qualification in teaching and assessing
- Understanding of National Nursing strategy and implications for Nursing
- Experience of developing evidence‑based protocols
- Experience of instigating investigations, interpreting investigations and initiating appropriate plan of care for patients
- Experience of assessing patients with undifferentiated diagnosis
- Assessment skills in history taking and clinical examination
- Experience of managing nursing team
- Experience of achieving Quality and Outcome Framework targets set by Avicenna Medical Practice
