Financial Controller

An ambitious and fast-growing SME based in Bradford is seeking a Financial Controller to support the Financial Director during an exciting period of rapid growth. This is a key role within the finance function, offering the opportunity to shape processes, improve reporting, and introduce forward-looking financial insight to support strategic decision-making.

This role would suit a hands-on, proactive accountant who enjoys building structure, improving MI, and partnering with the wider business.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Financial Director in the day-to-day running of the finance function

Lead and improve budgeting, forecasting and cashflow planning processes

Produce timely and insightful monthly management accounts

Develop and enhance management information (MI) to provide forward-looking, commercial insight

Improve financial reporting, controls and processes in line with a growing SME environment

Provide analysis and commentary to support business performance and growth initiatives

Oversee balance sheet integrity and statutory compliance

Work closely with operational and commercial teams to drive financial understanding

About You

Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) or qualified by experience

Strong background in management accounting within an SME or growth-focused business

Experience improving budgeting, forecasting and MI

Commercially minded, with the ability to translate numbers into insight

Hands-on, adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

Confident working closely with senior stakeholders
