Management Accountant

Our client is a long-established and growing manufacturing and distribution group, operating across the UK and Europe. The business has a strong heritage, a diverse product range and a vertically integrated model covering manufacturing, importing and distribution. It is well capitalised, profitable and is entering a period of systems and process transformation to support its next phase of growth. This role sits within a central finance team and will take responsibility for the management accounting and financial control of two subsidiary companies within the group.

Reporting to the Finance Director, the Senior Management Accountant will play a key role in strengthening reporting, improving controls and supporting compliance during a period of change.

Key responsibilities:

Preparation of timely and accurate monthly management accounts with meaningful analysis and commentary Full balance sheet ownership, including reconciliations and resolution of discrepancies Day-to-day financial oversight of two group subsidiaries, ensuring consistent standards and controls Oversight and submission of VAT returns, ensuring compliance with current legislation Supporting tax compliance in conjunction with external advisers Playing a leading role in the year-end audit process under the direction of the Finance Director Oversight of accounts payable processes for the relevant entities Review and maintenance of costing methodologies to support pricing and profitability analysis Involvement in ad hoc reporting, statutory submissions and finance projects as required Systems and projects:
Active involvement in the implementation of a new ERP system (SAP Business One) Helping to design improved reporting, analytics and business intelligence outputs Working closely with IT and operational teams to improve data quality and insight Candidate profile:
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) Background in manufacturing Strong management accounting experience, ideally within a group or multi-entity structure Strong Excel skills and experience of ERP systems; SAP experience beneficial Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 IPS Finance has 45 years experience in the Yorkshire accountancy recruitment market.
