We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Day Lead Operator to operate and maintain our Energy & Effluent utility plants efficiently and safely. This is a hands-on role at the heart of operations, ensuring compliance with all EHS and COMAH requirements while supporting plant performance and continuous improvement.

• Operate and maintain utility plants, including CHP, in line with procedures and safety regulations
• Issue General, Hotwork and notification permits, and complete waste documentation and spreadsheets
• Participate fully in the Permit to Work (PTW) system, including risk assessment, isolations, and safety checks
• Communicate effectively with your team, shift managers, and incoming shifts; maintain accurate handovers, logs, and SAP records
• Support plant troubleshooting, process operations, and departmental performance improvements
• Maintain high housekeeping standards through 5S practices, contributing ideas for improvement
• Ensure compliance with COMAH critical procedures and report any discrepancies promptly

• City & Guilds / ONC qualified, preferably HNC in an engineering discipline
• Experience working in utilities, CHP, waste incineration, or chemical plants
• Strong safety awareness and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
