We are looking for a highly skilled Modeller to join the Strategy & Regulation team at Yorkshire Water. The role is based in Bradford with hybrid working – 2–3 days per week in the office.
What you will do- Develop high‑quality urban drainage models to support hydraulic and environmental water quality assessments.
- Contribute to long‑term strategic planning for wastewater management.
- Support delivery of key regulatory outputs, including the Storm Overflow Discharge Reduction Plan, WINEP, and DWMP.
- Shape technical guidance and drive innovation in modelling practices.
- Collaborate with leading contract partners and internal teams on investigative and delivery programmes.
- Apply and develop expertise across urban drainage, river hydraulics and water quality modelling.
- Engage in AMP8 environmental programmes and future investment planning to improve outcomes for customers and the environment.
- A degree in a relevant discipline with urban drainage modelling experience.
- Competent in specialist modelling software, e.g. Info Works ICM used within Yorkshire Water.
- Knowledge of how sewerage systems operate.
- Strong data manipulation, analytical and problem‑solving skills, with an eye for detail.
- Understanding of hydraulics and hydraulic calculations.
- A working knowledge of GIS software.
- Able to communicate effectively (both verbally and written) and to maintain strong working relationships.
- Competitive salary £44,000 – £55,000 plus annual incentive £1,000.
