About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant with British Sign Language (BSL) Level 2 to join our supportive and inclusive team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about ensuring Deaf and Hard of Hearing pupils can fully access learning, thrive socially, and achieve their full potential.
You will work closely with teachers, the SEND team, and other support staff to provide high-quality, personalised support to pupils who use BSL to communicate.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct BSL communication support to pupils in lessons and around the school.
Adapt and differentiate learning materials to meet individual needs.
Support pupils social and emotional development, promoting independence and confidence.
Work collaboratively with teachers and specialist staff to implement personalised learning plans and communication strategies.
Promote an inclusive, accessible learning environment where every pupil can succeed.
Assist with classroom management and general teaching assistant duties as required.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
Qualified to BSL Level 2 (minimum).
Passionate about supporting Deaf and Hard of Hearing learners.
Patient, adaptable, and committed to inclusive education.
Able to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils.
A clear communicator and effective team player.
Experienced in a school or educational setting (desirable, not essential).
